About the Bay

A Fitting Studio Built Around One Instrument

Not a demo day, not a pop-up tent — a permanent bay with a deflection board bolted to the bench, because flex is a number, not a feeling.

How It Started

A Fitter Tired of Explaining "Feel" With No Numbers Behind It

Flex Gauge Golf opened its Verdae Boulevard bay in 2016 after years of watching golfers get sold a "Stiff" shaft based on nothing more than a swing speed guess and a manufacturer's marketing chart. The studio was built around a single piece of equipment most fitting counters skip entirely: a calibrated deflection board that measures exactly how much a shaft bends under load.

A decade in, we've logged flex readings on close to seven thousand shafts, across every price point and every major manufacturer, and the board still catches surprises — shafts stamped identically that measure noticeably differently once you actually load them.

What We Won't Skip

Three Rules the Bay Runs On

The Board Runs First

No shaft gets recommended off a printed flex letter alone. It gets clamped and measured before it ever gets swung.

No Shaft Quota

We stock components from every major manufacturer specifically so a recommendation never traces back to a sales incentive.

You Keep the Reading

Every session ends with a printed ticket showing the actual numbers — yours to keep, purchase or not.
